What inspired you to start Moms Offering More, and how has the mission personally resonated with you?
Moms Offering More was born during the height of COVID in March 2022. I had just welcomed my first baby, Adyna, that January and, like so many new mothers at the time, I was navigating deep feelings of isolation. It quickly became clear that there was a real need for a stronger, more connected community—a place where new moms from all backgrounds could find support, understanding, and reassurance as they faced the many emotional and practical challenges of early motherhood.

Before your day gets busy, what’s one routine or ritual you rely on to stay grounded and motivated?
I start my day by getting a workout in—moving my body first thing not only clears my mind but also boosts my energy and sets a positive tone for the hours ahead. I also savour a quiet morning coffee before the kids wake up; that slow, peaceful moment with a warm cup in hand allows me to ease into the day with intention rather than rushing. Carving out intentional “me time” gives me the space to center myself, so I can show up fully present, patient, and grounded for my children once the day begins.

Can you share a story of a family or initiative that has particularly inspired you since founding MOM?
One of the most powerful sources of inspiration for me has been the single mothers I meet through MOM. Watching women navigate enormous challenges with so little support—yet still finding the strength to show up for their children every single day—reminds me why this work matters. Their resilience pushes me to give more, do more, and continue building a community where no mother has to carry everything alone.

During the holiday season, MOM puts together hampers to support families in need. What do you find most meaningful about this time of year and the impact these efforts have on the community?
What makes the holiday season so meaningful for me is being reminded of just how real and urgent the need is for so many families. Our hamper program brings the community together in such a powerful way—volunteers, donors, and families all uniting with a shared purpose of lifting one another up. And the impact goes so much further than the items in the hamper; it brings relief, dignity, and a moment of joy to a household that may be struggling. It also humbles us, reminding us how much we often take for granted, and how something so simple can make an extraordinary difference in someone’s holiday season.

As the founder of MOM, how do you approach sharing the organization’s story and mission in a way that honours the families you serve?
As the founder of MOM, I approach sharing our story and mission with honesty and vulnerability, drawing from my own personal experiences as a mother. I’ve learned that motherhood isn’t always about having financial resources—sometimes the greatest challenges are physical and emotional. For example, when I was feeding my first daughter, Adyna, I struggled with milk production and the stress of not being able to provide as I had hoped, alongside the pressure many mothers feel around formula feeding. These are struggles that so many moms experience but rarely speak about. By openly sharing my own challenges and emotions, I aim to create a space where other mothers feel safe, understood, and empowered to ask for help without shame. It’s through this authenticity that we honour the families we serve and build a community rooted in empathy and support.

Looking ahead, what’s your hope for MOM’s impact on mothers and families over the next few years, and how do you envision the community growing?
Looking ahead, my hope for MOM is to expand our reach and deepen our impact for single mothers and their families. I want to provide more opportunities and resources that truly make a difference—whether that’s through increased access to essentials, educational support, or meaningful experiences that lift up the whole family. Part of this vision includes creating more family-led events and initiatives to provide more grocery gift cards to help meet the needs of the families we serve. I also hope to inspire the next generation to engage in philanthropy, teaching children early on the value of giving back, community, and empathy. By growing both our resources and our community, I envision MOM becoming a stronger, more connected network of support that empowers families to thrive.
